Start smaller than you think

A single enjoyable trip is a useful place to begin. Choose a journey you look forward to, rather than the longest or most demanding one. A quick visit to a friend or a weekend coffee run helps you learn what you like about riding without rearranging your whole week.

Remove one small obstacle

Notice what makes you hesitate. Is the lock hard to find? Are you unsure where to park? Is your bag uncomfortable? Solve one of those little problems before adding more rides. A routine is easier to repeat when leaving the house feels simple.

Let the habit change with your life

Work, weather, and family plans change. Your riding can change with them. Keep a favorite short route for busy days and save longer outings for when you have the space. There is no minimum distance that makes a ride count.

Make your next ride a good one.
